GSEU at the EAGE GET23 Conference in Paris

November 22, 2023

The progress of the GSEU - Geological Service for Europe consortium was presented at the 4th EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) conference GET23 (Global energy transition), which took place in Paris from 14 to 17 November 2023.

Francesco Pizzocolo, GSEU Project Manager, emphasised the need for a Geological Service for Europe, arising from the crucial importance of accurate and reliable geoscientific information to meet the complex challenges of our evolving world. Guillaume Bertrand, Head of the GSEU Critical Raw Materials Group, was one of the panellists at the plenary session on the final day.

With the energy transition, environmental management and sustainable development at the forefront, decision-makers need comprehensive geological data, expertise and science-based advice to navigate these overlapping areas, all of which rely on the sustainable management and use of the subsurface.
