The seminar entitled "UNFC and UNRMS: A Catalyst for Transforming Raw Materials Management in the UNECE Region and Beyond" took place on 22 and 23 April. It was organised by the UNECE, DG GROW, EuroGeoSurveys and the WEEE Forum. An important highlight of the seminar was the presentation of the ongoing establishment of the EU International Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Resource Management (EU ICE SRM) as part of the GSEU project. The focus was on train-the-trainer workshops, which will be crucial to support the Critical Raw Materials Initiatives (CRM Act) in classifying projects using the UNFC, and creating project inventories across Europe.
The progress made in establishing the EU ICE SRM was also presented in the session entitled "Building Capacity: International Centres of Excellence on Sustainable Resource Management". The presentation “EU International Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Resource Management (EU ICE SRM) and future directions” by Dr Meta Dobnikar (GeoZS) is available at the link below.
